NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Right guys, as the end of the year approaches it's time to think of our new years resolutions.

Mine are:

1) Be healthier (and the fittest I have ever been).

2) Make more YouTube videos!

3) Try to always look on the positive side.

I don't believe in simply dieting - I am trying to create a healthy lifestyle for myself (and then hopefully share with you!) So far it is going well but I know I could do a lot more to be healthier and fitter. I am going to be doing my fitness journey on here this year - I got a smoothie maker for Christmas so will be trying that out and posting smoothies (I do not like fruit so this is a huge step for me), I am also trying a teatox which I will review for you all. I also plan on trying some post-gym protein shakes and will let you know if I think it helps. Basically, 2015 is going to be the fittest one yet and I need all of you to join me!

Make more YouTube videos is self explanatory -  I have had so much positive feedback from you guys about all of them so I promise to start making more, instead of just constantly blogging.

I am so guilty of thinking the worse in most situations and stressing about things I cannot change so heres to my third and final resolution of being positive and spreading happiness!

What are your new year resolutions?

Lush: Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had amazing Christmas' and got everything you wished for!

I am not going to do a 'what I got for Christmas' post this year as I got totally and utterly spoilt but I will be reviewing things I have got and showing you bits over the next few months!

The first post is about Lush - Fresh Handmade Cosmetics.

Now, I can never bring myself to go in this shop as I simply cannot stand such strong smells (you'll know what I mean if you have ever walked past one!)

However I received my first Lush gift box this year which had some mixed bath bombs in it. I was obviously going to give them a go as I'm a sucker for a good long hot bath.

The first bath bomb I have tried is called Shoot for the Stars; which I can't seem to find on their website... maybe it is a Christmas one only?

As you can see it created beautiful colours in the bath and a good amount of bubbles so nothing else was needed.

It turned the bath a deep purple-y blue colour in the end and it was all glittery - it looked amazing. On top of this the smell wasn't actually too strong which I liked.

I was not that glittery when I got out of the bath (which would have been even cooler) but I think different bath bombs do different things - ie. you can get moisturising ones which I think would be more worth while.

The second one I am more reluctant to try as the smell is even stronger (I can literally smell it as soon as I even get in the bathroom). It must be a Christmas one again as I couldn't find it on the website.

Let me know if you have tried some lush bath bombs and if you think the smells are as strong once they have gone in the bath...?!

Does anyone have any favourites?

Christmas party outfit

So as I mentioned in my previous post, today's post is on a Christmas PARTY outfit! (that I forgot to publish).

I have gone for this beautiful playsuit from topshop. Which has now gone in the boxing day sales - I got it in a very dark green colour but here it is in a beautiful red colour! I did mention this beaut outfit in my winter favourites YouTube video (link at the end).

It is made of velvet, which is a great material for the Christmas period (along with anything sparkly or furry!) and it has amazing lace back detail (as you can see below).

I have this glorious New Look faux fur coat which is amazing over any party outfit to keep you snug and also looking good at the same time! Which you can also now get in the boxing day sales here.

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! (I'm sorry I forgot to publish this post before).

New Years outfits coming to my blog soon.

PS. heels - Primark.

Christmas Dinner Outfit

Hi everyone,

I thought I would do my first post on what to wear for those Christmas meals and parties we all have going on at the moment.

This post is for that family Christmas meal, where you need to look nice but not too fancy, as lets face it, they have all seen you looking your worst.

I opted for these gorgeous Topshop shorts in red to be festive (I didn't get these very long ago but I can no longer find this exact pair on their website). They are simply high waisted red shorts which I am sure you can buy in most shops.

I wanted the shorts to be the most stand-out piece of my outfit seeing as it was such a festive colour so I knew I needed to have a plain black top and shoes.

I decided to go for a back long sleeved top to keep me warm and covered up - but I think that any plain tight fitted top (as the shorts are 'flowy') or even a shirt would have been nice.

As I was wearing a plain top, it was ideal to choose a statement necklace to match the outfit. This is when I realised I didn't own a nice red necklace! I wore the one you can see in the picture above but ideally I would have a larger necklace, making more of a statement. I love River Island for big statement necklaces: this would have been ideal in a red colour.

I wore thick black tights as it was super cold outside and also these cute little shoes (check out my Primark Haul video for details on them both).

I teamed it with this amazing Topshop fluffy coat, which I got last year so there is no link to that I'm afraid, although there are some amazing coats in most shops this year!

Follow me on Google + in order to see my next Christmas fashion post which I will do on what to wear for the Christmas parties.

Thanks guys and Merry Christmas :)

Why I love the gym - fitness journey 2015

Hi everyone,

I thought I would do my next blog post on fitness today.

Now, I know that some of my friends and quite a lot of people don't actually enjoy the gym (or in actual fact just think they won't enjoy it) but I thought I'd write about why I do and maybe some of you will change your mind about it...

Firstly, it is a great stress reliever, making you feel good and happy about yourself; and  although knackered straight after, I generally have much more energy for the day. The hormones you release while exercising actually release "happiness" so what more reason do you need to get down to the gym! See: Stress.org.

The first few weeks might be daunting but once you get into it you honestly won't be able to get away. You will notice positive changes to your body and to your mind and this will make training so addictive!

Most gyms offer a free one day trial so make sure to ask about that and you could try the gym out before making a commitment to join.

Many people prefer to go to classes because you have someone to help you and basically make you do the work so here are some of my favourites:

1. Burn and Tone - this is a killer workout involving cardio and weights! I love it!

2. Body Pump - works on the whole body, and again is one of my favourites.

3. Spinning - is not as hard as people make out! you can stick to what level you feel comfortable with... I actually prefer the 'express spin' which is 30 minutes not 45.

4. Pilates - is great and very relaxing but unfortunately is on at awkward times at my gym.

I know that my gym offers classes contract free, where you just pay per session instead so now you have no excuse not to give it a try!

I do personally also love just going to the gym - leg day is one of my favourites but I tend to avoid working on my abs and arms for some reason and it will definitely be my next goal.

I am aiming to start a fitness journey on my blog in the new year if anyone would like to join me - I am going to spend my Christmas bonus on new fitness items, such as a little juicer to make smoothies which is something I have never tried before (and I don't like fruit) so the more people doing this with me the better! I will be posting any recipes I try and what I have been up to at the gym and all the things I already incorporate into my daily lifestyle (cayenne pepper, green tea etc). So let me know if you are joining me. Let's make 2015 our healthiest one yet!

Also let me know if you have any favourite smoothie recipes, or in fact which blender I should buy!

I will do a gym fashion post before this as well to help you prepare for our journey!

REVIEW: non-permanent (wash out) hair dye

Hi Everyone,

Todays blog is about non-permanent hair products.

I have always dyed my hair, bleached it, highlighted it... You name it. So I thought it was about time I attempt to go back to my original colour...

After speaking to my hair dresser she said because I had done all sorts without taking it back to its original state the only way I could do it was just to leave it until it all grew out (but if you follow me on instagram etc you'll notice my hair is so long) or use these non-permanent wash out hair dyes.

(I had no idea what this even meant to be honest so I looked into it, they last approximately 6 washes but each product varied).

I decided to try these two products:

My first attempt was with the right superdrug's own version: Superdrug Effects Chocolate Brown

At only £1.49 I thought why not give it a go! My aim was to go a dark brown all over - it was dark at the top but then faded down and my ends were still really light from where I had bleached it ombre style.

But they didn't really have this (I did not want any red tones in it either) so I went for "warm chocolate brown" as it was the darkest they had in the shop.

It was so easy to use - all instructions are on the back of the product - no gloves are needed and it didn't stain my hands.

It did colour over my hair but not very much at all - it didn't give the effect I was hoping for - but I reckon this was just because they didn't have a dark enough shade for my hair.

I would be really interested to know what other people have thought if they tried it?

So, I moved on to the nice'n easy range - I felt as if I knew this product would work before even beginning:

1. I have always preferred this brand over any others I have tried (permanent, semi-permanent and now non-permanent too).

2. It was in the colour I actually wanted to begin with.

3. On opening the box, it came with the product itself, full instructions, gloves and a hat.

It was again from superdrug but was a little more expensive at £3.75 ( and it was on an offer at the time) but the full price would still be cheap enough for me to want to buy it; NiceNEasy - Hair Lasting Colour Dark Brown

The product was a little more difficult to use than the first (but no more difficult than ordinary hair dye - it is the same principal). It had to be on for longer than the previous one I tried but it turned out exactly how I wanted it! I does look like I have dyed my hair and I love it!

I will let you know how long it does last but I would definitely be buying this product again.

Overall, I would definitely recommend you trying these products, nice'neasy in particular but if the Superdrug own version has the colour you wanted why not try it for that tiny price!

I would highly recommend before you dye your hair permanently (even if you were thinking semi-permanent) you try out these products as they are so much better for your hair.

Let me know if you try these products.

Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park, London

So me and my boyfriend went to winter wonderland again this year and it was just as good as the last!

If you're in London around the Christmas period I definitely recommend you go! For those of you who have been before, there are new things as well (check out their website for more - link below)

You don't have to spend a penny! It's such a great afternoon or evening out... It took me and Olly a couple of hours just to walk around. There are some amazing Christmas markets and all sorts of funfair type games (where Olly won me the unicorn below!!!!! best boyfriend award) and lots of really cool bars, including the Bavarian village this year where there was also live music! And all sorts of food stalls... From pulled pork and hotdogs to sweet stalls.

There are some rides too which you have to pay for with tokens and then the special amusements, such as the ice rink and circus which you have to pre-book as they sell out fast - but me and Olly didn't do any of this and still had an amazing day!

Let me know if you have been before and what you did or if you are planning on going...

Don't forget to check out their website; http://www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/

Revision Tips

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the lack of posts this week (and next week) but I am currently revising for the first lot of exams in my post graduate course... busy week!

I am hoping to do a Christmas gift ideas guide video at the end of next week so subscribe to my YouTube for that... I will try and do some gift ideas for every member of the family and keep them fairly cheap. So don't panic if you have yet to buy your gifts!

Now for revision,

I highly recommend getting loads of colour pens and highlighters and A3 paper and make big topic overviews, highlighting all cases in a certain colour and dates in another colour or whatever best reflects the elements you have to learn for your exams.

This is my current scene...

I like to make these overviews and then I do flash cards on the important elements to remember (such as cases) and then I write out notes on scrap paper as I think writing things down helps me to remember things... But everyone different!

The biggest thing to remember (which I often don't) is not to stress! And don't get worked up about everything, just do what you can! I have done a previous post on assignment/exam stress...

Anyway, I hope my advice helps some of you and good luck!!

REVIEW/TUTORIAL: Babyliss curl secret

Babyliss curl secret

I absolutely love this product and the end result! It is so easy to use, you don't even really have to think about what you're doing!

My camera had died so I couldn't do a full tutorial but let me know if you would like one.

Basically, you use the product with about one inch pieces of your hair (as in the picture It is easier to clip sections up) so it might take a while if you have thick hair... but you just close the curler at the top of the hair and it does all the work for you, beeps three times, and then you let go! It really is as simple as that...

It has a "de-tangler" so your hair doesn't get ruined or stuck in it - don't panic! I have messed it up but my hair came out easy... It also beeps differently to let you know it has gone wrong :) this product really does it all for you!

One tip I can suggest is to bring the curler down really slowly when it has finished. Other than that it is so simple!

I did it one Friday morning for that night, I put no hair spray in and even the next day it was still all curly until I brushed it out! Amazing!

Here is the link to the Babyliss website, but it is cheaper in boots and other high street retailers so keep an eye out - this product would make a great Christmas present for someone :)

Let me know if you buy it and show me pictures!
