8 ways to wear that staple LBD

Every girl needs to own a staple little black dress. If you follow me on instagram you will notice I wear a lot of black outfits - I think it is such a classic look.

So I thought for my next blog, I would take the most basic LBD and create 8 different outfits...

The dress I chose for this challenge was a simple £7.99 dress from Missguided (which appears to have gone up in price... but here is the link www.missguided.co.uk/alison-racer-bodycon-dress)

I could have gone on forever - they are so easy to style for any occasion, but here are my 8 ways to wear that staple LBD...

1. Holiday style

Wear your LBD with a kimono and your favorite sandals for a casual holiday vibe.

Kimono - Boohoo
Sandals - Francesca's

 2. As a skirt

Wear your LBD with a jumper to create the idea that the dress is a skirt, team with tights and trainers for a casual but cosy look.

Jumper - H&M
Trainers - Converse

 3. Cold days

Wear your LBD with a big cardigan, scarf, thick tights (I need to buy some!) and some boots for a great winter look.

Cargigan & scarf - Forever21
Tights - Primark
Boots - ?

4. Work style

Wear your LBD with a a smart blazer or jacket and your classic work shoes (and maybe some tights) and you can go to work looking good.

Jacket - Topshop
Shoes - Debenhams

 5. Casual day out

Wear your LBD with a bomber jacket and pumps for a great casual day out.

Bomber jacket - Topshop
Pumps - Primark

 6. Smart day out

Wear your LBD with a jacket and your favorite smart shoes when you're off on a nice day out.

Jacket - Loft
Shoes - River Island
Bag - Michael Kors

 7. Night out

Wear your LBD with some killer heels and a statement necklace and you're good to go on that night out.

Necklace - New Look
Shoes - Public Desire

 8. With a shirt

Wear your LBD with a shirt and you can create any type of look you want. I have gone for the casual look with trainers and a A&F shirt, but you could team it with a nice smart shirt and some heels for a more formal look.

Shirt - Abercrombie & Fitch
Trainers - Nike

I hope I have helped someone with outfit ideas for their little black dress & if you don't have one - go and buy one now! I recommend this Missguided dress just because it is so plain that you really can wear it with anything!

Stress

Sorry I haven't been able to blog anything exciting this week, I had to get an assignment done for my post graduate course - this was me earlier today (boring weekend!)

...so I thought I would do a short post on assignments now I have submitted it (yay)!

I don't know about everyone else but I get SO stressed so easy when doing assignments or exam preparation (just ask my boyfriend - he hates me at this time...)

But I'm here to tell you that you can do it!

Everything always seems so daunting at the start but it is important to remember you can only try your best. I know it really really sucks when you don't get the best grade or you feel like you tried so hard and still didn't do well but it ultimately doesn't matter. I know it feels like the end of the world but education isn't for everyone.

Everyone always says to me "as long as you tried your best"

Which actually really annoys me!

I don't know if everyone else does this but I always say to myself after I don't get the grade I wanted that I could have pushed harder. Even though at the time I felt like I was doing all I could.

It's not the end of the world if things don't turn out how we imagined (that's the exciting thing about life) everything will work out.

I was so disappointed with the grade I got at university, I cried for weeks and I was going to appeal my grade but then I realised it really doesn't matter. That path wasn't for me... and I probably wouldn't be where I am today - doing my post graduate diploma - if I got the grade I wanted.

Ultimately - I wouldn't change my experiences for the world and neither should you!

Doing my A-levels I pushed myself right to breaking point, I was so unhappy with everything and it all came from the stress of trying to do so well at college. I was obsessed. It felt like it was all that mattered. It was unhealthy...

There is a limit to how hard you can push yourself and we need to push to the end to achieve our best but not over the line. It's only you that knows where that line is so don't listen to anyone that tries to force you to do more or to do less - do whatever you feel comfortable with.

It's so important to take breaks and go out and enjoy your time with your friends because it all changes when you get older! If you feel stressed take a break! Go for a walk and get some fresh air or go see your friends or family. Don't over-work yourself into a bad place (because you'll probably end up getting even less done than if you took regular breaks because you're too stressed to concentrate!)

& who cares if you over-eat for a couple of days because snacking helps you to concentrate - I know it certainly helps me!

[I went for a walk today and the beautiful scenery made me feel so much more relaxed. I also had a bath with radox muscle therapy (because it turns the bath pink!) and lit some candles, followed by this scrummy Cadbury hot chocolate when I had finished. It took all my stresses away for sure.]

Ultimately your health is more important than your career because if you don't have health you won't have a career.

My best advice would be to organise your exam revision and plan out assignments so you don't feel so overwhelmed. It really does help and I hope this post helped some of you. Let me know if you have had any experiences like this and what helps you de-stress.

RECIPE: Clean fudge brownies

Like most people I struggle with the battle of wanting to be healthy and wanting to stuff my face with chocolate!

So here is the first post on yummy clean eats!

I made this healthy brownie for the first time last night and I have to say it is soooo yummy!

I definitely recommend you try it out! It was so quick and easy and you might already have all the ingredients in your house!

It is great to try out healthy snacks so you don't get bored with clean eating! Together we can do it!

Ingredients
1/2 cup dates
1/2 cup oats - blended into flour
1/3 - 1/2 cup cocoa power (I used weight watchers version)
1/4 yoghurt or almond milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Dash of salt
(I also added a few dark chocolate chips)

Directions
Blend dates then add the rest in order
Leave to chill for an hour

Notes
I used 0% fat yogurt but it was really thick so maybe try the almond milk.. I will next time!
Make sure the oats and dates are blended well before mixing as it is so thick!
It was super sticky so I will try less dates and more oat flour next time.

Let me know when you try it out and what you think!
